RDS-Iowa is adding a full-time Point of Sale (POS) Support Technician to our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in restaurant environments using Aloha software and/or experience within a call center environment. The candidate will work directly with the support and sales teams providing technical support to our customers as well as installing hardware and software in new customer locations. Opportunities for growth for accomplished support technicians include Project Management positions.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive calls and provide technology support for Aloha Point of Sale product.
  • Respond to incoming calls in a timely manner according to department standards.
  • Prioritize phone calls according to severity level and follow appropriate procedure.
  • Communicate effectively with customers who have varied levels of technical ability.
  • Record customer interaction using our database system.
  • Use troubleshooting strategies to help identify the customer's issues.
  • Use all departmental resources necessary to help the customer solve their issue.
  • Develop new solutions to frequently occurring problems.
  • Prepare for new releases and rollouts to anticipate customer inquiries.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred experience using Aloha Point of Sale software in a Restaurant environment.
  • Must be Customer-Service Oriented. At least one year working in restaurant industry, technology call center, or equivalent field support experience.
  • Should be familiar with desktop operating systems, basic computer hardware, local area networks, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Must be able to prioritize and work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions, occasionally in urgent situations.
  • Possess strong analysis, critical thinking, and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Repair and clean POS hardware and outsource with vendors what cannot be repaired in house
  • Maintain inventory levels of repaired equipment
  • Ship to customers repaired hardware and receive back damaged/ non-working for repair
  • Document service actions by completing reports, logs, notating calls in help desk software
  • Maintain correct programming manuals to assist technicians in field
  • Receive incoming shipments daily (UPS, FedEx, etc.)

Requirements:

  • Self-motivated, responsive individual with excellent prioritization skills
  • Skilled at electronics troubleshooting
  • Detail oriented and able to maintain accurate records of repairs, shipments, etc.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Retail Data Systems is looking for someone who has basic knowledge of PC's and is mechanically inclined to fill an Entry Level Full Time Support Technician position in the Nebraska area. You have to be self-motivated, organized and punctual person with excellent customer service skills. We will provide on the job training for this specialized position.

Duties:

  • Provide onsite technical support, as well as over the phone, for our customer base. This includes the frontend Point of Sale workstations and peripherals, Back office computers and the network.
  • Microsoft system troubleshooting including virus removal and recovery and use of PC imaging software.
  • Deliver technical computer troubleshooting and service peripherals on various POS computer workstations. For example: swapping printers, calibrating scales, repairing scanners, displays, keyboards and power supplies.
  • Assist with POS computer hardware installations: clients, servers, networking equipment, structured cable and coax.
  • Most of the day will be spent driving to customer sites repairing their computer systems (mostly day travel, with some overnights for installs). A company vehicle is provided for all travel to and from customer sites.
